AI-Powered Temperature Data Processing
For the generation of the temperature datasets, a correction model taking into account topography and based on artificial intelligence was developed for the downsampling of temperature at 0.025° spatial resolution.
Trained using high resolution DEM data and measurements from thousands of weather stations, our model helps mitigate the flaws initially observed in mountainous regions.
Our solution offers the best compromise between the reliability of the ERA5-Land data and the precision offered by the model thanks to the refinement of data according to terrain characteristics.
A second set of temperature data, weighted by population density, is also made available and provides access to measures that are more representative of those perceived by the population.
